Overview

The role is for a finance manager to be responsible for the full finance function for the Americas region and will form part of a broader international finance team reporting to the head of finance.

Key Responsibilities:
The finance manager will be responsible for the full accounting and finance function for the group’s entities in the Americas region. This will include:

  • Completing month end, quarter end and year end close within established time frames
  • Ensuring that expenses are processed and paid into the accounting records in accordance with group policy
  • Overseeing and management of the accuracy and completeness of the accounts payable ledger, including supplier reconciliation
  • Accounting for revenues and ensuring that sales invoices are properly recorded in the accounting records
  • Accrual accounting
  • Passing of general journals
  • Maintaining and ensuring that internal controls are complied with and that supporting documents are in place for all transactions
  • Maintenance of the general ledger for each entity and reconciliation of balance accounts
  • Liaising with external auditors to ensure that the external audit is completed efficiently
  • Intercompany loan account reconciliation and management
  • Assist the sales team with ad hoc and urgent sales invoice and key supplier payments
  • Oversee junior staff
  • Assist and report to the head of finance in respect of various tasks relevant to the role, including forecasting and budgeting
  • Responsible for the filing and payment of local taxes for each entity in the Americas region, including liaison with local accounting firms and tax specialists.

Qualifications, Skills And Experience Requirements
The successful candidate would ideally have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Studying toward CPA or similar, or recently qualified CPA or similar
  • Accounting degree or qualification
  • At least two to three years’ experience working in a finance team with responsibility for month end and year end close
  • Good working knowledge of and experience with accounting systems and ERP systems
  • Experience in working in a multi-jurisdictional group company as part of a broader team
  • Good communication skills, especially email and Teams messaging
  • Good personal skills and ability to work well with others in a shared services environment
  • Ability to manage and motivate junior staff working remotely
  • Aviation industry experience would be preferable but is not essential
  • Tax knowledge of US and Mexico would be preferable but not essential
