About the job

This role oversees the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts while maintaining internal controls and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial analysis, and driving process improvements to enhance financial efficiency. The Financial Controller Manager works closely with CFO and Leadership to provide strategic financial insights, support decision-making, and ensure the organization’s financial health and sustainability.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop, manage and religiously track budgets, forecasts, and financial plans
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with senior management to provide financial insights and support strategic planning
  • Prepare presentations for CFO and leadership team and the Board on month-end financials, budgets and financial plans
  • Prepares analysis based on monthly income statement, balance sheets, and other financial statements
  • Review month-end closing done by accounting to ensure accruals and estimates are done properly
  • Review of daily non-operational KPIs (commercial, operational etc.) to provide insight and support strategic planning to CFO and leadership team
  • Tracking OPEX and CAPEX budget line by line and ensuring spending’s are in line with the budget
  • Managing the accounting policy, ensuring that it is up-to-date and latest changes in IFRS and Group policies are implemented. Analyzes complex financial transactions and reports, determining accounting reserves, capitalizing of assets, and expense recognition, among other judgments
  • Coordinating with Group Controlling team for month-end Group Controlling reporting requests
  • Prepare and submit financial reports requested by Central Bank of the UAE
  • Participating in annual and interim audits
  • Contributing to and defining financial control processes and procedure

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in Controlling functions in financial and fintech institutions
  • Strong accounting knowledge, with proven experience with IFRS
  • Expertise in analysis financial statements and non-financial KPIs
  • Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial modelling tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with key stakeholders. Clear and concise communication with stakeholders at all levels, including non-financial audiences
  • A structural and logical approach to solving problems
  • Strong analytical skills and a hands-on attitude
  • Experience within a fast-growing organization
  • Ability to align financial strategies with organizational goals
  • Awareness of market trends and their potential impact on business finances
  • Expertise in implementing and monitoring financial controls and policies
