About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic bilingual (English & Arabic) Cashier to join us for the current academic year. The Cashier is responsible for processing and recording all types of payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting the Accounts team with administrative and financial duties. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Arabic and have strong organizational and communication skills. The Cashier must ensure that all tasks are carried out properly, safely, and efficiently, while maintaining the integrity and success of the school. Additionally, the candidate must respect UAE’s civil and religious institutions and customs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process cheques, credit cards, and other forms of payment, ensuring daily balancing of funds.
  • Maintain accurate financial reports using Excel and other software as required.
  • Answer inquiries from parents regarding student accounts and payment status.
  • Prepare and submit daily bank deposits for all payments received.
  • Follow up with parents on returned cheques and cheques on hold, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Manage Post-Dated Cheques (PDC) from the system and maintain a backup on Excel.
  • Maintain appropriate filing systems for all sales invoices and receipts.
  • Reconcile student receivable accounts to ensure accuracy and timely updates.
  • Send reminders to parents following ADEK regulations.
  • Report to the Head Accountant with daily updates and end-of-day summaries.
  • Assist the Accountants with various tasks related to accounting and financial reporting.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a cashier role, preferably in a school environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Arabic.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and other financial software.
  • Experience using ERP systems or similar databases.
  • Ability to work diligently in a fast-paced, school setting.
