Overview
The Associate Director Finance, MENA and South Africa will be a key member of the MENA and South Africa leadership team. This position will be responsible for Finance leadership in MENA and South Africa, covering FP&A, Accounting, Statutory and Administrative support. This position will report to the Senior Director of Finance, New Markets (based in US) and will partner with the MENA and South Africa General Manager to deliver on business objectives and the company goals in MENA and South Africa. The position is based out of Dubai (UAE). The candidate will play a significant role in connecting the Finance team members (FP&A, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, IT, and others).
The candidate must have a willingness to work in a non-structure environment with the goal of establishing the Finance function, creating financial process and procedures to design an efficient function able to support Bei Gene MENA and South Africa business. This individual will need to deal with both strategic topics and have a hands-on approach to successfully build out the finance capabilities to meet business objectives. The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-motivated, organized and result-oriented with strong communication skills, and problem-solving attitude.
Based in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning efforts (Annual Operating Planning, Forecasts and Long-Range Planning)
- Prepare and present monthly results, providing variance analysis; Discuss Risks and Opportunities with country leaders and propose mitigation actions
- Support the MENA and South Africa Commercial team developing business cases for decision making process (Price challenges, Taxes cases and others)
- Identify the organizational needs to build out a finance function (FP&A, Accounting, Controller, Procurement, Logistics, IT etc.) to support the MENA and South Africa operations.
- Key finance business partner for the MENA and South Africa general manager and functional leads
- Recommend solutions for business/process/technical/analytical issues that arise to improve accuracy/efficiency
- Jointly with the Accounting team manage the third-party payroll and accounting service providers
- Assist business partners with all practical aspects of the Procure to Pay cycle.
- Assist with the operational integration of logistics, wholesaler, and other stakeholders within the material and financial supply chain
- Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
- Miscellaneous projects as they arise including assisting the LATAM team with multi-country projects
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, , or related field is required. MBA is desirable
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Financial Planning and Analysis and / or Accounting
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry and / or biotech is a plus
- Fluent English is mandatory
- Ability to travel within Latin America and US
- Ability to thrive in a non-structure, dynamic and fast paced international environment – flexibility, team oriented, collaborative work style and a positive can-do attitude
- Ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy utilizing strong analytical and organizational skills
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with multiple functions and teams
- Effective communication skills (verbal and written), necessary for daily interaction with senior management, both within the country and across global corporate functions
- Experience of working with international headquarters (HQ) is important
- Experience with SOX and developing, enhancing, and maintaining systems of internal control
- Excellent technical and analytical skills in finance, financial analysis, and budgeting.
- SAP experience; TM1 experience; Think Cell; Advanced Excel and Power Point
