Overview
About The Role: As an Assistant Manager in Retail Operations you will work closely with the Retail Manager and assist in leading day to day retail activities across Atlantis The Palm and Aquaventure Waterpark. You will supervise a team of 30+ junior sales team members working across a wide range of indoor and outdoor outlets.
Key Duties And Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the shop floor is furnished with high levels of stock on a daily basis
- Communicating low stock levels and assisting with stock requests posting
- Conducing store visits, monitoring merchandising and service standards and taking action when necessary
- Ensuring service standards delivered by the team are in line with the resort level of service
- Providing feedback into range selection and assortment (product mix) by location for our own stores
- Delivering on the job product training for sales clerks
- Mentoring / coaching and developing sales clerks – ensuring team focus & monitoring progress toward business goals, particularly achievement of sales and cash margin
- Promoting effective communication and adequate information flow within the retail division and across the resort
About You
We are looking for candidates with at least 2 years experience in supervisory capacity in a multisite retail environment. Our preferred candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience in Waterpark/Themepark Operations – the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing and working within a waterpark or theme park environment, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Strong Staff Training & Development – we are looking for someone with significant experience in training staff effectively, focusing on both productivity and maintaining high standards of service.
- Leadership Skills – the candidate should be able to lead and mentor team leaders and clerks, guiding them on how to conduct themselves professionally in a dynamic, guest-focused environment.
- Guest Experience Focus – Assistant Manager must understand that waterparks are places of fun and relaxation for guests who are on vacation. They should be able to inspire their team to deliver extraordinary experiences to every visitor, ensuring that all guests feel valued and enjoy their time.
- Strong Communication Skills – we require someone who is outspoken, confident, and able to present themselves effectively both with guests and within the team. The ideal candidate will not shy away from taking ownership and responsibility for their area of operations.
