Overview
We are looking for an experienced Assistant Finance Manager with a strong Chief Accountant background in the hotel industry. This role will play a vital part in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our financial transactions, monthly closings, and balance sheet reconciliations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in hospitality finance, meticulous attention to detail, and a passion for supporting financial accuracy within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Support the Finance Manager in monitoring and analyzing financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Oversee the accurate and timely posting of daily financial transactions, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.
- Fully involve in month-end closing processes, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and adjustments, to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Perform comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and providing analysis for accurate financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, variance analyses, and other management reports to support financial decision-making.
- Assist in managing cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
- Maintain and enhance internal control policies to ensure transaction accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Support annual audits by ensuring accurate documentation and assisting with audit requests related to financial records and reconciliations.
- Work closely with the General Manager of our venues and accounting teams to align financial reporting with business objectives and support interdepartmental goals.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience as Chief Accountant for minimum 2 years from a reputable & highly busy hospitality industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.
- Proficiency in financial software ideally Microsoft Dynamics and have advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- In-depth understanding of hotel accounting practices, including revenue recognition, inventory management, and cost control.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a focus on accurate financial reporting.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle month-end closing processes and tight deadlines.
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
