About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Manager to join The Accounting and Finance team of Jumeirah Al Qasr. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • To ensure that the relevant support to a day’s transactions are complete and have been verified for the Finance Manager’s approval.
  • To assist in all stages leading to the preparation of all monthly financial reporting and analysis.
  • To set guidelines and deadline dates for each employee’s monthly work in order to ensure timely financial reporting.
  • To maintain standard operation procedures in all aspects of day to day work in-order to provide uniformity of works and meet departmental objectives.
  • To schedule & distribute the departmental works to Finance Executive and Finance Assistants in equal and efficient manner in-order to complete the tasks in time.
  • To schedule & organize monthly training for all Finance Colleagues in-order to make them competent on their work.
  • To monitor & evaluate all the tasks carried out by the Finance Executive and Finance Assistants in-order to have accuracy in the Financial Reports.
  • To ensure that an organized, up-to date filing system is maintained for all pertinent financial records.
  • To deputize for the Finance Manager during his/her absence and to be fully acquainted with his/her Job Description in order to carry out those responsibilities.
  • To handle all problems of the finance office with the exception of those which have to be referred to the Director of Finance/Finance Manager
  • To supervise Finance colleagues within the department in-order to ensure the standard operation procedures are followed.
  • To ensure a courteous atmosphere and an open door policy for the colleagues in-order to establish rapport with colleagues and motivate them for over all improvement.
  • To ensure that all employees do understand fully and adhere to the property’s employee rules and regulations, as well as to the property’s policies relating to fire, safety and health.
  • To instruct employees on the correct standards and procedures and to handle their problems regarding their daily work.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance & Accounting / Commerce / Mathematics / Economics
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Finance & Accounting administration processes and policies in the Middle East
  • Experience in Finance within hospitality or customer service-related industry (Hotel operation background highly regarded)
  • High level of written and verbal business English
  • Knowledge of Opera, Micros, Microsoft Dynamics SL (Solomon), Sun System
