About the job:

Dubai International Arbitration Centre is seeking a Full-Time Accountant to manage financial reporting and prepare financial statements. Responsibilities include bank reconciliation, overseeing audits and tax returns, handling payroll and corporate credit cards, preparing the annual budget, and developing accounting policies.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all necessary accounts, reports and statements, together with detailed supporting documentation both periodically and on-demand, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, revenue forecasts, budgets, cash-flow statements and management accounts for review by the management.
  • Review bank statements and reconcile them with general ledger entries, investigating any discrepancies and taking the proper corrective actions.
  • Coordinate, direct and oversee internal and external audits, including the annual independent audit of the consolidated financial statements of DIAC.
  • Organise and oversee quarterly tax/VAT returns.
  • Process payroll, including expense claims and other necessary payments.
  • Oversee the management of corporate credit cards.
  • Manage the preparation of the annual budget in conjunction with the Executive Director and Registrar.
  • Prepare casework financial summaries and other correspondence related to casework finance matters on instruction and addressed to parties, users, counsel and arbitrators for review.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies with management to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

Requirements:

  • Have 4+ years of demonstrable experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • ACCA or CPA certification is required.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, time management and administrative skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Have analytical and evaluative skills.
  • Have an organized approach to work.
  • Are punctual and meet deadlines.
  • Work well under pressure.
  • Achieve planned work and set own performance standards.
  • Can build strong working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Based in Dubai.
  • Proficiency in both English and Arabic is preferred.
