Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Accountant / Accountant for a company located in Sharjah. The incumbent will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, including preparing financial statements, processing invoices, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.

  • Maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable, document bills and supporting documentation
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices, confirming validity of the debt and gathering appropriate signatures
  • Process financial transactions with pinpoint accuracy using accounting software (experience with QuickBooks is essential)
  • Prepare meticulous journal and general ledger entries, adhering strictly to GAAP and IFRS
  • Creditors ledger revision
  • Credit and Debit reconciliation and ability to create a Debtors/Creditors report
  • Intercompany balance reconciliation
  • Debtors ledger revision and reconciliation with clients SOA
  • Invoicing clients
  • P&L reconciliation and ability to complete and present month end P&L
  • Experience on balance sheet reviews
  • Budget variance control

  • Reconcile bank statements, leaving no stone unturned to identify and rectify any discrepancies
  • Assist with the month-end closing process, ensuring all accounts are accurate and balanced
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to create and maintain comprehensive financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, potential issues, and areas for cost optimization
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant accounting regulations and tax laws
  • Assist with the preparation of tax filings (with oversight from a senior or tax professional)

Qualifications

  • Certification – CA, CPA, CMA, ACCA preferred
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Must have min. 3 years UAE work experience
  • Logistics background preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree mandatory; Master’s degree preferred
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks – working knowledge is mandatory
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory, with a strong grasp of advanced formulas and functions
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and meet deadlines
  • Extremely presentable with good communication, hygiene and interpersonal skills
  • Must be available immediately
