Accountant

At Zahr Freighters, we are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Accountant to join our team in Dubai. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts payable processes, ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions, and maintaining the integrity of our financial records. You will work closely with vendors, manage invoices, and support month-end closing activities, contributing to the overall financial health of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify reimbursement documents in accordance with finance policy.
• Assemble, review, and verify invoices and check requests.
• Identify and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices.
• Sort, code, and match invoices for processing.
• Set up invoices for payment and enter/upload them into the system.
• Track expenses and process expense reports.
• Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
• Conduct check runs and post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and prepare account analysis.
• Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up-to-date.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
• Maintain and update vendor files.
• Correspond with vendors and respond to their inquiries.
• Produce monthly financial reports.
• Assist with month-end closing activities and provide supporting documentation for audits.
• Maintain accurate historical records and ensure confidentiality of organizational information.

Education and Experience:

• Education: Accounting graduate (Bachelor’s preferred).
• Experience: 2-5 years in accounts payable or general accounting.
• Skills:
• Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures.
• Proficiency in relevant accounting software (MS Word, MS Excel, ERP).
• Strong data entry and management skills.
