Job Description/Role
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Finance in overseeing the hotel’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, policies, and procedures, including tax laws and internal controls
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and key performance indicators to assess the hotel’s financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Coordinate with department heads to develop and monitor departmental budgets and forecasts, providing guidance and support as needed
- Support internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit inquiries
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial strategies to optimize revenue, reduce costs, and maximize profitability
- Foster a culture of professionalism amongst the team through training, mentoring, and performance management
Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably in the hospitality industry. Middle East experience and hotel pre-opening experience is an advantage
- Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations, with the ability to apply them in a hotel setting
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong leadership abilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team to achieve excellence.
