Job Description/Role

Role: Payables Specialist

Office: Sharjah Office

Reporting Line: Accounts Payable Manager

Personal Attributes:

  • Qualified Accountant with at least 4-5 years’ experience at a similar level
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Capacity to analyse data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Clear and effective communication with vendors, colleagues, and other departments.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and changes in the business environment.
  • Motivation to suggest and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Primary Job Purpose:

To manage and oversee the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions related to accounts payable, ensuring that vendors and suppliers are paid accurately and on time while maintaining thorough records and adhering to financial policies and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Record business transactions, manage invoices, verify financial information for maintaining accounts payable records.
  • Implement effective monitoring to ensure timely vendor payments.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial documents for payment, auditing, and tax purposes.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of accounts payable sub-ledger to the general ledger.
  • Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.
  • Conduct detailed cost variance analysis to identify discrepancies and trends in spending.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and explain variances in financial performance.
  • Recommend process improvements based on analytical findings to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy.
  • Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to senior management effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to accounts payable.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounts payable management
