Job Description/Role

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Internal Audit Officer at City Exchange in Dubai. The Internal Audit Officer will be responsible for conducting audit reports, IT audits, financial analysis, and general auditing tasks on a day-to-day basis.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and continuously enhance the Branch Audit and Investigation program using a risk-based approach, in alignment with organizational objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
  • Review the adequacy of relevant policies and procedures
  • Ensure proper investigation of all assigned fraud investigations in collaboration with the concerned departments while ensuring neutrality and confidentiality
  • Confirm that fraud incidents are appropriately reported, in collaboration with Risk & Fraud Prevention Officer , and HR & Administration department
  • Ensure regular assessment of the effectiveness of counterfeit detection, reporting and training procedures
  • Confirm the availability of insurance cover to protect organizational interests
  • Oversee the process to verify and confirm that the set daily limits (for each Instant Money Transfers system) are appropriate to the size of the business of each branch
  • Ensure assessment of efficiency of customer complaint management process
  • Oversee procedural reviews for the management of unclaimed funds
  • Ensure achievement of objectives of the branch audit and investigations program, and of the individual audits/investigations in the program
  • Maintain effective liaison with external parties for outsourced audit arrangements, and ensure that deliverables meet the expected quality, time, cost, and scope objectives
  • Identify critical issues and recommend best practices to support and safeguard operational governance and management
  • Provide timely and effective escalation of non-conformities identified through audits
  • Draft, review, and communicate audit reports to the senior management as required
  • Ensure closure of recommended actions in close coordination with business teams
  • Drive adherence to professional principles of auditing, including integrity, fair presentation, diligence, confidentiality, independence, and evidence-based approach
  • Ad-hoc assignments as required by the immediate line of authority

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • A minimum of 5 years of Internal Audit experience whilst leading audit teams in the banking, financial services industry, or in any auditing firm (Big 4 or others)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or other relevant certification is a plus.
  • Experience in internal auditing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with audit and financial analysis software.
  • Good understanding of risk management and internal controls.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
