Job Description/Role

Job Role:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing financial activities, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance with UAE financial regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and review accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to assist in decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting.
  • Coordinating with bank for short- and long-term financing.
  • Preparing various reports for Management from time to time as and when requested.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop and manage budgets for various departments and projects and variance analysis.
  • Assist in preparing financial forecasts and projections.

Accounting Operations:

  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
  • Assist in preparation of VAT and Corporate Tax returns and reconciliation with of system with filed tax returns
  • Reconciliation of ledgers and other financial records.

Audit and Compliance:

  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE financial regulations, standards, and internal policies.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor junior accountants and accounting staff.
  • Provide training and support to team members on accounting procedures and best practices.
  • Ensure team adherence to deadlines and quality standards.

System and Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within the accounting function.
  • Coordination with the ERP consultant for the implementation of ERP (Dynamics 365) for newly established companies.
  • Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as MBA,CA,CPA, ACCA, or CMA(US).

Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role. Experience in the real estate sector/manufacturing is preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of UAE financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Dynamics 365, Microsoft Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
