Job Description/Role

  • Responsible for day to day operations of the finance and accounts staff.
  • Works closely with the HR in terms of recruiting new staff in finance, first day induction, training them and providing performance review.
  • In coordination with the HR, producing payroll and paying out at the same time on a monthly basis.
  • Develop procedures and accurate implementation of the recording, classifying, and summarizing of daily financial transactions.
  • Generate financial statements (balance sheet, profit and loss, cash flow) monthly.
  • Institute policies and procedures capable of protecting the business resources against waste, fraud, and inefficiency.
  • Maintain procedures to establish tight control over cash transactions.
  • Ensure timely follow up of accounts receivable and payable.
  • Evaluates & implements external audit recommendations & provides feedback to management on results
  • Support the Group CFO in preparing the budgets and the forecasts.
  • Implement budget and forecast preparation schedule by collecting relevant business data and projections from the line departments and provide relevant analyses and feedback to enable finalization of the budget and forecast proposals and all related reports including profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
  • Provide support, service and advise in all finance matters to the company’s management.
  • Exercise budgetary controls, accounting & physical controls and credit control as per laid down procedures and asset management. Also exercise controls on other purchases and services.
  • Maintaining an effective involvement and understanding of the business in order to contribute to key business decisions within the Company through financial advice and expertise.
  • Assist the Group CFO with any request related to finance reports.
  • Retain accounting department’s high performance.
  • Monitor and ensure proper provisions in the GL to meet the organization needs.
  • Maintaining and balancing accounts – reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintaining an accurate account of supplier payments and ensuring payment at the appropriate time.
  • Overall management of cash and ensuring the cash levels stay at healthy limits at all times. Advising and guiding management on strategy and steps to ensure the same.
  • Ensuring that there are no pending cash collections with the concerned staff/departments.
  • Leading the relationship with all banks to get the maximum support.
  • Handle entire financial and cost accounting role e.g. Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, forecasting, budgeting.
  • Performs month-end-closing procedures
  • Determining measures necessary to meet the targets for revenue, GOP and EBIT etc.
  • Ensuring timely preparation and presentation of financial statements
  • Accomplishes finance strategies by determining accountabilities; communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing guidelines and communication programs.
  • Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction; establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Developing action and succession plans of the finance department.
  • Accomplishes finance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in relevant computer software.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.

  • Minimum 5- 8 years experience in accountancy
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
  • Knowledge, understanding, compliance and enforcement of all applicable local laws and regulations that regulate the finance industry
  • Good communications and project management skills
  • Proven record of accomplishment organizing and managing a team
  • Ability to lead while remaining results focused
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals within a fast-paced work environment
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written is essential. Another language advantageous
