Job Description:

As an Accountant, you will be instrumental in managing the financial aspects of our contracting and fit-out projects. Your role will involve ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, as well as supporting various accounting functions tailored to project-based work.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain financial records specific to contracting and fit-out projects.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes with a focus on project accounting.
Reconcile project-specific bank statements and general ledger accounts.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions related to projects.
Prepare project financial reports and statements.
Monitor project budgets and costs, providing regular financial updates to project managers.
Assist with internal and external audits, particularly those related to project finances.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and project-specific requirements.
Provide support for budgeting and forecasting activities for projects.
Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CIMA qualification is highly preferred; CPA certification or working towards certification is a plus.
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in contracting or fit-out projects.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
Experience with project accounting and cost tracking.
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
