Job Description/Role

Job Purpose

  • Manage Group Accounting and periodical closing of its books of accounts in accordance with IFRS and delivery of relevant financials, reports and statements.
  • Contribute to the development of the Group’s Finance strategy
  • Ensure implementation of relevant financial accounting and reporting policies, processes and procedures designed to add value and improve operations at Group level.
  • Support the Sr Director – Financial Consolidation and Reporting in overseeing the Group’s general accounting activities and ensuring timely and accurate preparation of the Group’s financial statements

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide relevant inputs to the development of financial accounting and reporting processes, procedures and timelines in order to achieve Group Finance strategic and operational objectives
  • Manage the monthly closing of Etisalat Group (Standalone) books in accordance with IFRS and delivery of relevant financials, reports and statements required.
  • Manage the monthly data upload relating to Etisalat Group Standalone and other entities as applicable on Hyperion.
  • Coordination with the Auditors for quarterly reviews and year end audit of Etisalat Group (Standalone) books
  • Manage the Coordination with FC&R team on the period end/ year-end closing of certain SPVs and delivery of relevant financials, reports and statements required and coordination with the Auditors and Group Legal (for Board resolutions, etc) as required.
  • Manage the timely and accurate completion of all accounting processes, and financial reports of certain SPVs in accordance with with Group Accounting policies and international accounting standards
  • Ensure, review and ultimately be responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the Etisalat Group standalone and SPV’s financial statements as applicable.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Group Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger Accounts.
  • Manage the Group’s project costing and fixed assets accounting to ensure within planned budgets as per approvals
  • Ensure accounts payable and receivable are within accepted norms; highlight significant variations for the attention of the Sr Director – Financial Consolidation and & Reporting
  • Manage the group payments by monitoring, checking and conducting all supplier payment related procedure in accordance with contract specifications and group accounting standards and policies.
  • Manage the group Receivables by monitoring, checking and conducting all intra group receivables related procedure in accordance with group accounting standards and policies.
  • Coordination with the Opcos and relevant departments within UAE and Group for the collection of Group Receivables and timely resolution of all Intercompany disputes.
  • Review the MSA , Contracts, and Shareholders loans with the Opcos as and when required and effective coordination with relevant departments (Group Tax, Legal, Contracts, etc) and Opcos in this regard.
  • Contribute to the development of the Finance strategy for the Group and oversee its implementation in area of responsibility across the Group
  • Review the analyses of relevant Finance processes, and recommend optimization to enhance functional performance and efficiency
  • Monitor, track and follow up on the performance and competence of the Financial Accounts team
  • Develop and recommend the financial and manpower budget for the Financial Accounts Section; control section budget within approved parameters
  • Conduct analysis for the optimization and streamlining of specified processes to support the enhancement of functional performance and efficiency.
  • Collate and review drafts of the financial and manpower budget for area of responsibility

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Economics, Finance, Accounting

Related Professional Training, Certification or Membership:

Relevant professional accounting qualification/ certification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, etc.)

Years & Field of Experience required:

6 to 8 years of experience, involving similar financial accounting and reporting responsibilities in a reputable banking/ financial services firm, telecoms company or other multinational organization, including most recent 3 years in a managerial role
