Job Description/Role

Monkey Distribution Overview:

Monkey Distribution is a leading distributor and retail operator specializing in pop culture and lifestyle products. Monkey distribution is the exclusive distributor for global brands in MENA, as well as operates 10 retail stores including the first “Funko” franchise store outside of the United States and the first “Harry Potter Wizarding World” store in MENA region.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Management:

  • Supervise and oversee accounts overall payable functions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Monitor vendor accounts to ensure payments are up to date and resolve any discrepancies.

Statutory Reporting:

  • Prepare VAT computations and ensure compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Handle ADGM filing requirements and ensure timely submissions.
  • Coordinate with auditors for statutory audits, including retail store sales audits.

Month End Reconciliations & Recording:

  • Conduct month-end reconciliations for retail, Telr (payment gateway), and petty cash accounts.
  • Record necessary journal entries and adjustments to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Management Reporting:

  • Prepare month-end retail reports and consolidation of financial data.
  • Provide insights and analysis on financial performance to management.

Service POs’ & Bills Posting – Internal Controls:

  • Review and post service purchase orders (POs) and bills accurately.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial transactions.

Facilities Insurances:

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time in accordance with UAE VAT regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all UAE VAT laws and guidelines, staying updated on changes and updates.
  • Conduct thorough VAT calculations and reconcile VAT accounts.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to gather necessary data for VAT reporting.
  • Assist in managing VAT audits and respond promptly to queries from tax authorities.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff on UAE VAT matters.
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to VAT procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of VAT filings and compliance records.
  • Stay informed about tax regulations/Compliance and best practices in the UAE.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of Finance experience in UAE.
  • Preferable if available immediately.
  • Must hold professional qualifications ACCA, CPA, CA.
