Job Description/Role

About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic accounting assistant that will be responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining records, and supporting senior staff with financial tasks. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate record-keeping and generate reports while assisting with data migration and other projects.

Specifically, the Accountant should:

Perform bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
Ensure proper maintenance and filing of accounting records and supporting documents.
Verify petty cash bills and submit them for Finance Manager approval.
Record petty cash expenses in Odoo/Procim.
Record staff expense claims in Odoo/Procim.
Prepare purchase orders as per the instructions of the Senior Accountant.
Record supplier invoices against purchase orders.
Generate accounts payable reports and open purchase order reports on a weekly basis.
Prepare checks for suppliers and other third parties and ensure timely distribution.
Provide support to the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager in their day-to-day tasks.
Assist in the data migration process to the new ERP system.
Perform other ad hoc duties as required.

You should be:

  • A highly motivated and results-oriented professional with a strong work ethic.
  • Proactive and able to take initiative, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
  • A detail-oriented individual with a keen eye for accuracy, able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Possess strong analytical and logical thinking skills to ensure financial data integrity.

As a minimum, you should have:

  • At least 1 – 3 years of experience working as an Accountant.
  • Good technical knowledge in financial and cost accounting.
  • Good understanding of VAT & IFRS.
  • Expert in using Excel.
