About the job

We are looking to work with an on-site part-time accountant who can be the primary lead on tasks related to bookkeeping and financial analysis and support the team with administrative tasks.

Accountant – Strategic Work:

  • Weekly Financial Review (bank positioning, online cards status, payments due and scheduled to be received, etc.)
  • Works with the operations team to coordinate invoicing projects, cost review, timesheet allocation, etc.
  • Manages the cost per project to make sure that the projects are profitable
  • Monitors the transactions on the company cards
  • Monthly listing of expenses and analysis to see unusual activity to report
  • Bills all projects on-time
  • Collects dues on time within an acceptable rate agreed on with management
  • Identifies areas for cost-savings
  • Builds and follows the company’s financial systems
  • Provides the management with the financial performance of the organization

Accountant – Tactical Work:

  • Issues invoices, receipts, statements, credit notes, cheques, etc.
  • Following up intensively on the collection of money
  • Updating the accounting software (QuickBooks) regularly
  • Calculate the salaries for the full-time staff and freelancer payments
  • Establishing and managing payments via WPS
  • Manages payments to third parties (vendors, freelancers, etc.)
  • Conducts payments from the petty cash
  • Prepares financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Income Statement, etc.) every month
  • Prepares the budgets and the financial forecasts
  • Files the Value Added Tax
  • Completes the action items in the Financial Controller checklists (daily, weekly, monthly)
  • Make sure that the team is logging the timesheets and project costs
  • Updates the Project Billing Tracker regularly
  • Files the financial documents (electronically, physically)
  • Communicates with customers

Administrative:

  • Obtain and renew employment visas, insurance, etc.
  • Logs the attendance and leaves of the staff
  • Prepares certificates requested from time to time by employees
  • Manages a courier for sending and receiving payments, invoices, etc.
  • Deposits and withdraws money and checks in bank accounts
  • Handles phone calls incoming to the office
  • Manages day-to-day office requirements: Stationary, etc.

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • A minimum of three years of professional work experience in the United Arab Emirates.
  • At least three years of experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Knowledge and experience with Value Added Tax (VAT).
  • Strong administrative skills with experience in managing office operations.
