The Regional Financial Controller will assist with the day-to-day finance activities across the Middle East, Northern Africa and India regions (MENSAI). You’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining key business data, ensuring the timely submission and approval of critical elements like timesheets, expenses, and project setups.

What you will be doing.

A key aspect of your role involves daily monitoring of work in progress and debtors across the region, attending weekly meetings to update status, and actively contributing to maintaining a healthy cash flow. More specifically, you will:

  • Review and approve daily transactions posted by finance staff throughout the region.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new and existing month-end policies and procedures.
  • Prepare balance sheet schedules on a monthly and yearly basis, create data input for monthly management reports, and upload results on PowerBi.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and other technical staff to calculate project profitability and assist in maintaining optimal profit margins.
  • Handle the payment of group charges, prepare payroll calculations, review, and approve purchase invoices.
  • Assist with the implementation of the transfer pricing policy of ABL Group and assist in transfer pricing audits.
  • Support bidding and business development activities with the registration and maintenance of client portals.
  • Prepare and file tax returns across the region, assist in tax audits, and adhere to financial audits in line with legal requirements.
  • Maintain financial records in accordance with local laws.

What we are looking for:

Ideally, you will be an experienced Financial Controller who has held roles at a regional level previously. More specifically, we are looking for the following:

  • Chartered Accountant (ACCA) with 7 years’ worth of experience, ideally with some exposure to working with or within matrix and decentralized organizations.
  • Experience with direct and indirect tax law and its filing, audit activities and reporting, payroll, budget and analysis, accounts payable and receivable.
  • Solid understanding of accounting standards and a good understanding of cost / management and reconciliation of cash, debtors and creditors.
  • Solid understanding of reporting standards such as IFRS and GAAP.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferably with formula driven worksheets and accounting software / ERP.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with financial and non-financial colleagues.
