We are a leading travel and tourism company Headquartered in Dubai with offices in multiple locations, specializing in providing exceptional travel experiences to our valued clients looking for an Accountant for our Dubai Office.
A) General Description of the position
A member of the finance team responsible for managing the financial records, transactions, and reporting of the travel agency. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a good understanding of accounting principles and procedures
B) Responsibilities
1- Financial Record Keeping
– Maintain and update the financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
– Process and record daily financial transactions, such as payments, receipts, and expenses
– Reconcile bank statements and transactions to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
2- Accounts Payable and Receivable
– Manage accounts payable by processing vendor invoices and making timely payments
– Handle accounts receivable by issuing invoices to clients, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts
3- Booking Records
– Record and reconcile travel bookings, payments, and commissions from various vendors and travel partners
– Ensure the accuracy of commission calculations for travel agents and third-party affiliates
– Periodically reviewing accounts and preparing a trial balance
– Assist in tax preparation and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations
4- Other responsibilities
– Utilize accounting software and tools to manage financial records efficiently
– Recommend process improvements and implement best practices for bookkeeping
C) Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
– Proven work experience of 5 years as an Accountant or Bookkeeper, preferably in the travel industry
– Minimum 3 years of experience working in Dubai handling Accounts and Finance.
– Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
– Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant tax regulations
– Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
– Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
