We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to fill the position of Accounting Officer.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the steel manufacturing industry or in the Steel Industry.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Accounting Officer. The Accounting Officer will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, including maintaining financial statements and records, using accounting software, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and principles.

To be a part of the Accounts team responsible for maintaining a well-organized and accurate accounting function.

To manage a company’s financial records, though an organization’s size and specific industry may affect their general duties and responsibilities

Accounts payable and expense reimbursements processing

·       Enter the relevant accounting entries and posts related invoices daily as per VAT compliance, along with a review on a monthly basis, to ensure compliance with IFRS and related department standards.

·       Prepare, execute, and reconcile payments, in accordance with departmental standards and cashflow management policies, to ensure adherence to payment terms, cycles and commitments to internal and external stakeholders.

·       Review and post the transactions related to contractors’ payments, in line with contractual terms and departmental guidelines, to ensure on-time and accurate payments to contractors and/or partners.

·       Manage preparation, execution, and reconciliation of payments, in accordance with departmental standards and cashflow management policies, to ensure adherence to payment terms, cycles and commitments to internal and external stakeholders.

 

Cash Treasury Management

·       Manage cash treasury along with Petty cash book and all other cash books accounting, reporting on daily basis and reconciliation every fortnight.

Revenue Accounting, Credit Control & Others

·       Process all the TT/LC/Collection Documents accounts receivables transactions in the system along with Allocation per the service agreement

·       Ensure daily banking of customer receipts accounts is completed.

·       Investigate collection issues and resolve any disputes related to company/firm account receivable.

·       Process tax credit note requests as per the agreed service level agreement and in compliance with the authorization policy.

·       Respond to queries related to billing and collections and resolve issues if any.

·       Monitor timely acceptance for collection and Export LC documents

·       Monitor and ensure that all the AR transactions in the system are processed against the cheques deposited in the bank/ cash sales as per the service level agreement.

·       Ensure collection issues are investigated and any disputes related to company/firm account receivable are resolved.

·       Supervise daily banking of customer receipts accounts.

·       Preparation of cash flow

·       Customer balance confirmation.

·       Receivable ageing review.

·       Cheque, Cash posting along with allocation

·       Cheque presentment

·       Credit Insurance application and working preparation

 

General Accounting and Reporting

·       Bank Reconciliation

·       FX rate update daily basis

·       File Management

·       Credit Card reconciliation and payment

·       Inventory physical count and reconciliation

·       TR Settlement/Retirement/LC discounting entries.

·       Account ledgers reconciliation.

·       Asset Capitalization with tagging.

·       Assist in statutory audit

·       Assist in VAT filling working

·       Assist in monthly MIS

·       Reconciliation of all account’s ledger

Qualifications

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in commerce, accounting, or related discipline.

Preferred: Master’s degree in commerce, accounting

Experience Minimum: 3 years of accounts and finance operations experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in finance and accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Effective communication skills to work in a team environment
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is a plus
  • Professional certification such as CPA or ACCA is a plus.
