We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our team in Dubai, UAE

Responsibilities:

The individual will be responsible for (but not limited to):

Costing Methodologies:

  • Selecting and applying appropriate costing methodologies, such as standard costing, activity-based costing, or job costing, depending on the company’s industry and needs.

Cost Analysis:

  • Conducting in-depth cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for efficiency improvement.
  • Examining cost structures, production processes, and pricing strategies to optimize profitability.

Cost Control:

  • Implementing cost control measures and cost reduction strategies to help the company achieve its financial targets.
  • Monitoring and reporting on cost variances and taking corrective actions as needed.

Inventory Management:

  • Overseeing inventory accounting, including valuing and reconciling inventory, assessing inventory turnover, and minimizing carrying costs.
  • Collaborating with the supply chain and operations teams to optimize inventory levels.

Cost Accounting Systems:

  • Managing and maintaining cost accounting systems and databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date cost data.
  • Evaluating and recommending improvements to cost accounting software and tools.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Developing and managing the budgeting and forecasting processes for cost-related aspects of the business.
  • Collaborating with other departments to align budgets with strategic goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborating with other departments, such as finance, operations, procurement, and sales, to gather and analyze cost-related information.
  • Supporting cross-functional teams in decision-making by providing cost insights and recommendations.

Compliance and Auditing:

  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies related to cost accounting.
  • Coordinating with internal and external auditors during audits of cost-related processes.

This is a hands on role and not currently managing a team.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • 8+ Years experience in cost accounting, 2+ years in a Managerial position preferably in the field of Manufacturing
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, together with a Certification in Chartered Accountancy.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, etc.)
