Job Description
As an Assistant Manager – Accounting & Accounts Payables, you will be responsible for assisting the Head of Accounting in managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization. Your primary role will be to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, provide strategic financial guidance, and provide guidance and coaching to other team members (procurement, account payable, account receivable)
Main Duties
- Collaborate with various departments to analyze financial data, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and implement financial policies and procedures
- Assist the FP&A team to confirm monthly expenditures and profits by division /cost center are correct
- Support the Head of Accounting in day-to-day responsibilities to ensure actuals are reported on time and are compliant with accounting principles (Group reporting policy and local statutory requirements), regulations and internal controls
- Post accounting entries and ensuring the rationale and adequate supporting documentation are provided
- Prepare and review accounting reconciliations monthly maintaining the required accounting documentation (e.g. valid and actual supporting documents, audit trail reports)
- Plan, prepare and coordinate the audit of statutory financial statements
- Support the development and maintenance of financial systems, processes, and policies to improve automation, efficiency, transparency and accountability
- Provide analysis to management to understand trend or deviation on actuals versus budget
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices, and recommend necessary modifications to accounting processes
- Liaise with internal stakeholders (business coordinators, procurement, legal, tax and other finance teams) regarding accounting-related queries
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus
- 4 years of progressive accounting experience
- 2-3 years experience in one of the Big Four is a must
- Experience drafting IFRS financial statements
- Strong attention to details and accuracy, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality
- Experience working with ERP systems would be an advantage
- Strong MS Office with focus on MS Excel. Power BI advanced user is an added value
- Excellent English language skills
