We are currently seeking a CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT or SENIOR ACCOUNTANT who has extensive experience in accounting to join our team in Umm Al Quwain, UAE.
Job Description:
· Will ensure the accuracy of accounting data by recording, confirming, gathering, and entering transactions. Along with management, the Chartered or Senior Accountant will use their knowledge and expertise to enforce and monitor compliance with company-wide accounting rules and processes.
Please note that the role is based in our office headquarters at Umm Al Quwain. Previous experience in the construction industry will be an advantage to you.
Responsibilities:
· Processing payments to subcontractors/suppliers/clients and maintaining payment records
· Reconsolidate all supplier accounts and confirmation balances for audit.
· Keeping track of general ledger and sub ledger accounts.
· Petty cash reimbursement and storing confirmations from receivers.
· Payment preparation (cheques, bank transfers, BOE, and so on).
· Carry out bank reconciliations, related transactions, and report Cash balances on a daily basis.
· Produce timely and accurate accounting reports for the company’s executives and senior management, including timelines and feedback on operating outcomes.
· Manage the AP/Payroll processes throughout the organization.
· Maintain a record of all contract costs and ensure that they are recorded in accordance with corporate policy.
· Check and record employee dues settlement.
· Intercompany transactions are recorded and reconciled.
· Prepare timely and accurate accounting reports and present them to company executives and senior management, including schedules and commentary on operating results and variances, preparation of operational information, and ad hoc reporting as needed.
· Participate in or lead various projects and tasks as needed based on company needs, such as establishing modeling tools and procedures for reviewing and comprehending financial data and providing trustworthy recommendations based on the data. Evaluate and recommend enhancements to global accounting systems and related technologies to support the Company’s strategic needs and improve internal controls and financial information reliability.
· Assist with year-end closing and audits of accruals, reserves, and intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
· Assist with the record retention procedure, which involves certain accounting reports and data.
· Creates and maintains financial management information systems, as well as correcting errors.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience in the construction industry in UAE is required.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance: CPA/CMA certification preferred.
· Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
· Management experience with a team of junior accountants.
· Knowledge of Quickbooks preferred.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Valid driver’s license is a plus.
