- Collaborate with department heads to develop comprehensive budgets for all hotel operations, including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, and other revenue centers.
- Conduct regular financial reviews to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and revenue enhancement strategies.
- Prepare variance analysis reports to explain budget deviations and suggest corrective actions.
- Develop accurate financial forecasts and projections, taking into account occupancy rates, average daily rates, food and beverage covers, and other revenue drivers.
- Assist in the annual budgeting process, coordinating with relevant departments to gather necessary data and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management, including detailed analysis and commentary on financial performance.
- Generate key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to help monitor the hotels financial health and performance against targets.
- Analyse cost trends and make recommendations for cost containment measures without compromising service quality.
- Work closely with the Revenue Management team to optimize room rates, pricing strategies, and yield management to maximize revenue.
- Oversee the timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure adherence to accounting standards and policies during the closing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting principles, tax regulations, and other financial legal requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and reviews.
- Oversee the hotels financial systems and ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Recommend improvements to financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct special financial analysis and ad-hoc projects as requested by the Head of Finance or senior management.
RequirementsWhat We’re Looking For
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Masters degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Management Accountant in the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort setting.
- In-depth knowledge of financial management practices, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, variance analysis, and KPI reporting.
- Familiarity with hotel-specific financial systems (e.g., Opera, Micros) and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with different departments and stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
