Job Purpose
Managing Corporate Tax applicability pre and post-implementation.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Manage full range of corporate tax in compliance with laws and regulations within timeframe.
- Establish / revisit policies and procedures to smooth handling corporate tax matters.
- Prepare periodic corporate tax return in accordance with the applicable law.
- Provide innovative tax planning as part of complex corporate tax returns.
- Coordinate with legal and compliance department for any legal or compliance aspects of tax.
- Assist the legal department / external lawyer to represent before appellate authorities.
- Identify and mitigate tax risks.
- Coordinate accounting staff to establish and improve reporting mechanism.
- Manage tax provision and tax compliance process.
- Ensure that returns are filed, and payments are made in timely manner.
- Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits.
- Maintain tax balances on general ledger.
- Prepare all tax papers in regular basis and handle all information data requests.
- Verify the system generated reports of for corporate tax purpose.
- Respond to queries on transactions to relevant departments raised by vendors or customers.
- Responsible to keep corporate tax related mandatory records in good order.
- Manage corporate tax at group level.
- Involve in day-to-day activities of Finance department.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or equivalent
- Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and all types of tax returns
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in tax from the banking / finance industry
- Preferred Association/ certification from banking and finance institutes or related professional associations such as ACCA, CA or equivalent.
