As the Chief Accountant at Luna PR, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial activities of our organization. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to senior management.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong background in accounting and financial management.
Responsibilities include:
-Financial Management:
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial operations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to provide accurate and timely financial information to senior management.
- Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and ensure adequate liquidity to support the company’s operations.
- Review and approve financial transactions, including invoices, expenses, and payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
-Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare and submit accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Coordinate external audits and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards and regulations and implement necessary adjustments to financial processes and reporting.
-Financial Analysis and Strategic Planning:
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making and strategic planning.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and evaluate business plans, financial projections, and investment proposals.
-Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support in their day-to-day activities.
- Set performance objectives, conduct performance evaluations, and identify training and development needs for the accounting team.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability within the accounting department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience (5-10 years) as a Chief Accountant, Controller, or similar role, preferably in a PR or marketing agency or related industry.
- Must be familiar with UAE VAT taxation laws and practices
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) for financial analysis and modeling.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
