The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.
Responsibilities
- Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Handle full spectrum of financial and cost accounting role e.g AR, AP, GL, reconciliation, payroll, journal entries etc.
- Responsible for front ending and closure of statutory audit and obtaining signed FS in a timely manner.
- Manage cash flow and working requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal control and effective accounting system and policies.
- Support CFO in ensuring that intercompany cost allocations are in line with management agreements and transfer pricing policy.
- Establish and maintain systems for cost sensitivity analysis and early warning of cost overruns.
- Work consultatively with the respective departments on cost reduction initiatives.
- Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations, including review and approve payment vouchers and journal entries.
- Lead and supervise the team of accountants and branches and align with HO policy and procedures.
- Analyse revenue and cost for any variance from budget.
- Proactively share knowledge across the internal departments to streamline systems. Understand interdependencies among financial systems and ensure accuracy and consistency of data.
- Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close
- Assist with the annual audit process including the draft of the financial statements and related notes.
- Research and analyse expense variances for company management.
People Responsibility
- Defines goals and key performance indicators for each member of the Accounts & Treasury Department and ensure effective implementation of the AG Melco performance management process.
- Manage the team members by evaluating their performance providing feedback on an on-going basis, identifying development needs and coaching them to ensure capability development.
Job Specific Skills
- Strong knowledge of internationally accepted accounting standards IFRS and IAS.
- Sound knowledge of all of internal operational and business processes.
- Strong ability to understand business processes and identify risks associated with the same.
- Strong knowledge of Capital Management frameworks and processes.
- Strong knowledge of Cash Management accounting processes.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and excel and SAP is a must.
- Deep knowledge of statistical tools.
- Strong people management skills.
- Strong planning and coordination skills Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles.
Qualifications
- 8 – 10 years of relevant experience in a similar industry, including at least 4 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
- CA/CPA/CMA
