A well-known and well-reputed Company based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is looking for an experienced, skilled, competent, mature, qualified, creative, and intelligent candidate with significant knowledge and relevant working experience for the position of “Accountant”.

Job Purpose:

  • Issues quotations for non-covered jobs
  • Issues end of month invoices
  • Receives invoices from vendors/contractors and process them for payment
  • Responsible for daily operational accounting entries, purchasing, and accounts payable/receivable
  • General oversight of accounting policies and procedures
  • Creating periodic reports, such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, etc.
  • Controlling the payroll and reconciling bank statements
  • Preparing accurate month-end account with comparison to forecast
  • Preparing profit and loss account and the balance sheet for management
  • Assist in preparing budgets and business planning including project revenue
  • Ensuring legislation is followed regarding VAT
  • Spot check on engineering stores
  • Monitor expenses comparing to budget on daily bases

  • Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.
  • Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
  • Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.
  • Health, Safety and Security
  • Comply with reasonable OSH instructions and safe working procedures;
  • Use of appropriate personal protective equipment and safety systems;
  • Be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures;
  • Not will fully or recklessly endanger anyone’s health and safety;
  • Assist with preparation of risk assessments;
  • Report OSH hazards, incidents and issues
  • Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence to manager/supervisor.
  • Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Follow Hazardous Material Management Program procedures for handling and disposing of chemicals, fertilizer, pesticides, blood borne pathogens, etc., including using Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
  • Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures, as necessary, to avoid injury.
  • Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions and/or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
  • Complete appropriate safety training and certifications to perform work tasks.
  • Follow property specific procedures for handling emergency situations (e.g., evacuations, medical emergencies, natural disasters).
  • Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.
  • Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.

  • Protect the privacy and security of guests and co-workers.
  • Follow company and department policies and procedures.
  • Ensure uniform, nametags, pins and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Protect company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.
  • other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Minimum Requirement (Education / Knowledge, Skills and Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting/finance
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
  • Knowledge in Accounting/Finance software system which includes general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, project accounting, fixed assets, billing, budgeting, etc
  • A good grasp of the various accounting rules and treatments, tax and regulatory issues, the ability to work with numbers and a good understanding of how to use accounting software
