About the Job:
An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Finance Manager to join The Emirates Academy of Hospitality management. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are
- Maintain General Ledger in line with International Financial Reporting Standards and prepare day to day journals/accounting entries to ensure the accuracy of books of accounts on daily basis.
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and does not have any unauthorized postings.
- Assisting in annual budget planning
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Manage monthly payroll and audit of expense claims
- Manage the capital accounting and fixed asset register
- Well versed with bank procedure and bank reconciliation.
- Preparing VAT reconciliation reports and FTA returns
- Analyzing monthly Profit & Loss Statement and support colleagues with any queries raised at monthly P&L Reviews
- Prepare monthly management report
- To manage the month-end process including all postings and reconciliations of intercompany transactions/invoicing and management of balance sheet accounts in order to meet reporting deadline.
- Prepare monthly cash-flow report, including actual cash spend and forecast for the month.
- To prepare the requirements of Internal/External and Government auditors during audit period.
- Professional experience of ERP, journalizing, general ledger coding and book entries.
- To post all the journals required to allocate the expenses to correct cost centers as part of month end process.
- Motivate the Team for success, as well as integrate collaboration and customer-service oriented behaviors, initiate best practices for efficient and effective workflow and process automation.
- Prepare timely regular and ad-hoc reports and analyses to support management decisions; and
- Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management.
About you:
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance & accounting in a managerial role
- Knowledge of International Accounting Standards and General Accounting Practices
- Professional Degree in in Finance, Accounting
- Knowledge of Opera, Oracle ERP application and Hyperion, Sun Financial
- Knowledge in developing financial controls, policies and systems, budgeting, financial reporting, month end close, financial modelling, cash flow forecasting and internal controls
- Hospitality or Educational sector experience
- MS Office with advance Excel and PowerPoint knowledge
- Operating systems skills in Oracle, Opera, Hyperion, Sun Financial
- Effective communication skills & Presentation skills with fluency in written and spoken English
