Role Purpose
The Sourcing manager will be responsible for managing the sourcing function with the B2B department, setting the sourcing strategy for his/her Category, build his/her Category portfolio and acquire exclusive brands in the region. The role to fulfill sourcing requirements in an effective manner.
Role Details – Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities Sourcing Strategic Planning
- Manage the strategic planning process for the assigned categories based on key consumer insights to enhance current portfolio and improve communication with consumers
- Deliver internal and external presentations regarding product knowledge, new product introductions, marketing materials, business objective and communication strategy
- Coordinate the development of communication materials such as catalogues websites, brochures, packaging and in-store displays
Sourcing Optimization
- Monitor and analyze business performance vis-à-vis business goals (awareness, share, consumer diagnostics, profitability, etc.) and the competition
- Establish performance specifications, cost and price parameters, market applications and sales estimates
- Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Monitor stock levels in a proactive manner to avoid stock issues / out-of-stock and control stock replenishments
Quality Control
- Develop metrics to evaluate quality and oversee the evaluation of quality
- Examine and test existing contracts
- Issue stock allocation per SKU and per client if needed
- Monitor items movement and following up with sales team on low / no sales
- Prepare weekly and bi-weekly orders
- Approve issuing claims to suppliers as per the nature of the case
Coordination with Internal and External Stakeholders
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Communication department to implement the marketing plans by working with internal and external suppliers to deliver in a timely manner and on budget
- Work closely with distribution partners, subsidies and marketing research companies to obtain relevant information, including the development and implementation of brand audit studies and focus groups
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the sourcing function
- Coordinate regular meetings and prepare regular reports outlining the brands’ performance
Human Capital Responsibilities
- Ensure the implementation of the performance management process
- Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
- Identify training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements
- Oversee the development and implementation of on the job-training
- Ensure constant availability of the required competent staff to support the organization in meeting all its responsibilities, plans, and objectives
- Provide inputs while developing MAF Retail’s corporate policies and relevant procedures, and monitor the implementation
