The Team:
The Corporate Finance team at Cypher Capital is part of the global strategic finance organization involved and specializing in state of the art crypto, blockchain and digital assets projects and is responsible for leading the company’s financial forecasting and reporting for executives and investors. Specifically, the team is responsible for developing the company’s annual and long-range plans as well as providing executives with regular analysis of the company’s performance across key strategic goals.
Co-Founder: Bijan Alizadeh, co-founded Phoenix Technology, which is building one of the largest mining farms in the United Arab Emirates and has 700 MW of operational mining farms across Russia, Canada, and the USA.
The Chairman: Bill Qian overviews the investments and operations for Cypher Capital. Prior to Cypher, Bill was the Global Head of Fundraising, Ventures, and M&A for Binance Group. Prior to joining Binance, Bill was the Head of Investment of Fintech/Tech for JD.COM. Before JD, Bill worked for Trustbridge Partners, a leading technology-focused private equity fund. The Role:
The lead position of the Corporate Finance Director/Manager will be working closely with finance and business partners at all levels and functions of the company. This role will require the candidate to execute strong leadership and collaboration skills by working on projects that drive executive decision-making and company value creation.
The Corporate Finance Director/Manager is the senior finance leader within the organization and a part of senior leadership team, this person is responsible for all aspects of the Corporate Finance function to include budget setting, forecasting, strategic planning, financial reporting & analysis, compliance, risk management, and accounts payable/accounts receivable.
The Corporate Finance Director/Manager will play a vital role in partnering with the top management to formulate and execute the company’s financial strategic goals while providing all functions across the business monthly, quarterly, and annual financial data necessary to meet and exceed goals set by management.
The Corporate Finance Director/Manager is a prime champion in motivating all levels of the organization to use financial data and metrics to run the business. In addition, he/she will serve as a key business partner in owning and directing assorted projects related to Finance, continuous improvement, organizational optimization, and other critical business priorities.
The Corporate Finance Director/Manager will play a key role in helping to achieve our business goals, as well as increase the company’s overall value by leading and guiding the development of an efficient, versatile, and progressive strategy finance team.
He/she will be responsible for leading the financial operations of the company in a hands-on manner, setting strong examples for business ethics, collaboration, communication, transparency, and attention to detail.
The Corporate Finance Director/Manager will ensure fiscal operations are in compliance with all applicable regulations and standards for all jurisdictions in which the company operates. This includes International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) for the UAE and its international subsidiaries. You will be prepared to lead the financial aspects of establishing new business entities in any future operating locations that growth may dictate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary financial spokesperson and oversee all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to the company’s accounting, treasury, financing, capital investment, tax, budget, cost analysis, reporting, and forecasting
- Define, track and report on company’s financial KPIs for reporting to executive team and board. Includes evaluating which SaaS metrics are most important in measuring business performance and working cross-functionally to measure and report metrics
- Analyze and recommend emerging industry trends, expansion opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, competitive threats, internal business performance and business process improvements. Provides input from strategy perspective to potential mergers, acquisitions, investments, and divestitures to ensure maximum returns on invested capital and consistency with overall business objectives
- Financial Modeling: Build and maintain the company’s detailed forecast models, with specific emphasis on cash flow and long-term strategic planning
- Company Benchmarking & Valuation: Perform relevant benchmarking and valuation analysis in order to measure performance and identify key performance drivers. Work to define and track key internal and external performance and valuation drivers for the company and peers
- Financial Reporting: Generate reporting and presentations for executive and board meetings and other external investor communications
- Analytics: Support ad hoc finance projects to help leadership make financially sound decisions
- Oversee internal and external financial reporting: income statements, balance sheets, capital budgets, cash flow planning, annual operating plans, and mid-year forecasts
- Manage the corporate financing needs of the company by tracking, measuring, evaluating, and forecasting financial results; identifying needs and trends; analyzing capital needs; establishing and enforcing internal controls; and arranging and participating in internal and external audits
- Work cross-functionally to develop and manage analysis that will be used to measure business performance and support key business decision making
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Experience as a Manager/Director with revenues over $30M
- 3+ years’ progressive financial management and leadership experience within Audit, Transaction Services, Strategic Finance, or Private Equity
- Industry experience: finance, crypto, fund management, digital assets, crypto fund, quant fund is advantageous
- Proven leadership experience in a dynamic business environment
- Strong understanding of corporate financial principles and tools
- Hands-on attitude with the ability of swift communication and reporting to CEO and Board of Directors’ requests. Proven ability to work collaboratively across the organization
- Proven track record of delivering sustainable results within a team centric organization
- BS in Finance or Accounting is mandatory; MBA/CPA preferred or math/statistics from a top university
- Advanced Excel & financial modeling skills
- Deep understanding of accounting, financial statements, valuation methods, and key metrics used in corporate finance
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
- Excellent business communication skills, written & verbal
- Superior attention to detail and quality
