About the Job
We are currently looking to hire an ambitious and self-driven Accountant to join our team and drive our Team to success. General Accountant will report to the Finance Manager and will be responsible to prepare accounting and reporting services such as asset, liability, and capital account entries and maintaining financial transactions for all accounts.
This role requires an experienced individual with 2+ years of experience preferably in the retail industry. The ideal candidate for this position will be a driven, inspiring, and effective individual.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare assets, liabilities, and capital accounts
- Prepare, analyze, and report variances on the balance sheet, profit, and loss statement, and other financial reports
- Consolidate, maintain, and analyze client accounts.
- Develop ad hoc excel report building both internally and for clients
- Assist with the accounting operations, including internal month-end close and ensuring on-time reporting.
- Review and maintain existing contracts, accounting systems, and procedures to advise clients and internal teams on timely invoicing
- Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation reports.
- Update, file, and maintain VAT return records in a timely manner.
- Record and report financial data according to applicable International Accounting and Financial Reporting Standards.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual forecasts.
- Assist with and act as the primary point of contact for auditor requests.
Other Responsibilities
- Complies with UAEāÆfinancial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Assist with payroll processing.
Ideal Candidates
- 2+ years+ successful GCC experience preferably in the retail industry.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related and professional qualifications (ACCA, CMA, CPA)
- Must be able to travel regularly within the UAE and occasionally within the Middle East region
Key Qualifications
- Proper knowledge of UAE VAT Law
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), advanced level in Excel.
- Advanced level working in Microsoft Dynamics
- Advanced level working in QuickBooks.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
