To oversee all financial activities of the allocated business vertical(s), ensuring compliance with the corporate policies and relevant laws, with an aim to ensure the integrity of all financial transactions and safeguard the financial interests of the respective vertical.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure corporate budgeting policies and procedures are adapted/implemented appropriately in the respective vertical(s) and comply with the (local) legislation.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial transactions including accounts receivable and payable, cash flow management, execution of payroll, banking arrangements, and variance analysis for the allocated vertical(s).
  • Work closely with VP and Head of Departments to prepare the annual budgets, ensuring that the allocated vertical(s) operate within budget and report on any variances.
  • Assist vertical in developing capital, operating, and manpower budgets.
  • Assist business vertical(s) in setting an optimal price(s) for the different products/services to ensure overall vertical profitability.
  • Prepare and perform analysis of financial statements on a regular basis e.g. P&L.
  • Provide respective vertical(s) with analysis and reports needed for operations and profitability enhancement.
  • Collate information to prepare financial reports such as income and expenditure, balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, variance reports, and summary comments.
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant banking institutions for the arrangement of financing as required.
  • Ensure safe custody of critical documents i.e.: cash, checkbooks etc.
  • Follow up on all payments.
  • Support the insurance requirements for the allocated vertical by ensuring legal and statutory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree in Finance or Business Administration or equivalent.
  • MBA is preferable.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of regional and international finance practices.
