An exciting opportunity has arisen for United Arab Emirates National (UAEN) candidate to join Finance Department in Group & Corporate as Assistant Finance Manager – General Ledger.
The main purpose of this role is to oversee the reporting process for the Group and Corporate business units and review the implementation of internal controls and reporting standards in order to ensure compliance with all external financial reporting policies and requirements. In addition, this position will add value by assisting in month-end process and reporting.
Main Duties
- Month End closing.
- To ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and do not have any unauthorized postings.
- Knowledge of journalizing, general ledger coding, and book entries.
- To accrue all the expenses incurred in the month but not booked.
- To post all the journals required to allocate the expenses to correct cost centers as part of the month-end process.
- Well-versed with bank procedure, handling foreign currency, and bank reconciliation.
- Analyze and allocate shared service and group service charges to all the Jumeirah entities.
- Manage the inter and intercompany invoicing process through the verification of invoices and the maintenance of proper supporting documentation in order to ensure that charges are allocated to the right accounts.
- Analyzing monthly Profit & Loss Statement.
- To assist departments with their queries on P&L.
- To prepare the requirements of Internal/External and Government auditors during the audit period.
- Assisting Finance Manager/DOF in preparing the month-end closing procedures in order to meet reporting deadline.
- Any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management.
About You
To be considered for this role you must possess below:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent from an accredited and renowned University.
- Professional Finance or Accounting Certification (i.e. CPA, CIMA).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Finance & Accounting administration processes and policies in the Middle East.
- Experience in Finance within hospitality or customer service-related industry (Hotel operation background highly regarded).
- High level of written and verbal business English.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications (MS EXCEL, MS WORD)
- Knowledge of Sun System, Oracle, ADACO, Hyperion, PMS & POS Systems will be an advantage
- Ability to forecast Business Performance
- Ability to fill in for Finance Manager with timely Solutions, problem-Solving
