Fugro Middle East has an excellent opportunity to join a growing Fugro’s Marine Asset Integrity Business Line in the Middle East Region. We are looking for a well-rounded Project Manager in Qatar and Dubai. As Project Manager, you are responsible and accountable for the complete delivery cycle of Marine Asset Integrity (MAI) projects.

These positions will be working within a high performing team that focuses on project performance and continual proactive improvement. You will also work closely with the broader business, such as the procurement, finance, technical and crewing teams. As a project manager, your accountability will include the efficient and effective execution of the agreed work in the field of Inspection, Maintenance & Repairs (IRM) and/or Positioning & Construction Support (PosCon) projects, within the Marine Asset Integrity business line, across Middle East & India region. This role will also act as an essential link between the teams (i.e. business and innovation) to drive the deployment of new technology/solutions for our clients.

In this role, you will be expected to assist with and continually improve day-to-day project tasks, pre-project preparations, project execution and project closeout. You will use your excellent communication skills to build strong relationships, both internally with your colleagues and externally with clients, to coordinate Project Management tasks and improve our service delivery. An essential part is to ensure the teams working with the workable technology/solutions deliver the proper outcomes for Fugro, our Client, and our Partners.

Key Responsibilities

Delivering Project Excellence

Focus on ensuring that assigned projects are executed in accordance with Fugro standards and client specifications.

Plan, organise and coordinate to achieve an optimal balance between project cost, time, safety, quality, benefit, and risk.

Monitor project budgets, forecasting, schedules, and performance against KPI’s and develop project documentation, including project execution plans.

Supervise and guide project teams and coordinate project activities with the different departments, e.g., workshop, logistics, planning, etc.

Achieving Project Excellence

Support the Key Account Managers, Business Development Managers, and Commercial Managers during the tendering process in preparing the technical sections of commercial proposals.

Be fully aware of the project’s contractual and commercial conditions, provide necessary amendments, and, together with the Account Manager, prepare invoices for the clients and chase if payments are delayed.

Undertake any other duties as appropriate within your competence when required.

Ensure active and accurate delivery through all stakeholders.

Ensure support for efficient and effective delivery of Business Development, Commercial, and Project Management delivery streams/processes;

Engagement & Providing feedback

Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and experts to successfully implement solutions, procedures, workflows, and processes.

Provide guidance, and collect feedback on the operational implementation process (i.e., adoption or adaption)

HSE/Compliance

Shows and applies genuine management commitment and exemplary leadership to deepen and strengthen our safety culture, with a specific focus to ensure new developments drive down HSSE risk

Education And Experience

  • Qualification
    • BSC or MSC – Business or Technical
  • Delivery focused
    • Ability to deliver the work with all stakeholders (internally and externally) to a defined project goal within the set boundaries.
  • Planning & organising
    • Able to set priorities and determine actions, time and resources (tools, software, people, and budget as appropriate.) to achieve pre-defined goals. Monitor and manage timely delivery, leading to reliability and client satisfaction.
  • Technical Survey Knowledge
    • Ideal candidates would have work experience in project management related to Inspection, Maintenance & Repairs (IRM), and Positioning & Construction Support (PosCon) projects

Languages & Proficiency

  • Excellent verbal and written skills both internally and with the Client (English is essential, other dialects may be advantageous).
  • Experience in team (direct or remote) management, including management of technical projects executed by contractors, vendors, or other 3rd party groups.

  • Ability to clearly define roles, responsibilities & accountabilities for decision-making hierarchies and establish controls, approvals, and monitoring for compliance.
  • Sound understanding of the fundamental components of a project in terms of its’ scope, deliverables, schedule, milestones, and resource requirements.
