The Junior Accountant will be responsible for providing additional support to the organization by ensuring that all financial records and reporting are up to standard, updated and maintained regularly.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring that financial information complies with professional and regulatory standards.
- Aligning general ledger accounting practices to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Entering financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and interdepartmental entries into the ledger on a monthly basis, as well as preparing reports.
- Performing account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct.
- Reconciling accounts with the general ledger.
- Gathering supporting documentation and performing record-keeping.
- Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.
- Prepare accounting related entries for numerous registers, journals and logs.
- Follow our companyās established accounting processes.
- Record accounts payable invoices and assist in preparing timely payments to vendors.
- Perform daily and monthly Cash & Credit Card reconciliation.
- Regularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare documentation for external auditors.
- Support Operations with timely responses to P&L questions.
- File and pay sales & VAT returns.
- Assist with the month-end/year-end closing procedures of the accounting records.
- Handling of petty-cash fund.
- Assist with other accounts-related ad-hoc tasks as and when required.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in accounting or in a related specialization is a must.
- At least 2-3 yearsā experience in general ledger accounting, or similar.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
- Strong communication and analytical skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Superb time-management and organizational skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
