We are currently recruiting for a Accountant (Tax Consultant) to work in our Tax Advisory Services department.

About you:

  • Good level of post qualification experience in a tax environment, exposed to range of complex assignments, or able to demonstrate equivalent
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounts from recognize university.
  • Must have valid Registration with FTA in UAE.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills ā€“ able to deal with people at all levels
  • Self-motivated and able to show initiative
  • Accurate and able to work well under pressure
  • Good problem solving skills

What youā€™ll be doing:

At consultant level, you will be expected to work across the range of specialisms, supporting all senior managers, directors and partners in delivering projects. Expectations of level of responsibility would include the following:

  • Scoping and costing new projects
  • Preparing risk assessments to identify key tax issues to be considered
  • Liaising directly with clients and engagement teams to understand and document legal, accounting and commercial background to engagements
  • Drafting tax advice for review by senior team members
  • Seeking clearances and advance assurance from HMRC
  • Reviewing transaction documents for consistency with tax advice given
  • Reviewing tax deeds and warranties in transaction documents
  • Reviewing target company information and preparing transaction due diligence reports
  • Preparing complex corporation tax returns and reviewing lower complexity returns
  • Liaising with non-UK firms in the PKF network to obtain input on international tax projects and preparing advice on the impact of UK and non-UK taxes
  • Monitoring project budgets and preparing fees.

Examples of projects: CCI and ROCT teams cover an array of work and consultants are expected to engage with the whole range at more junior levels, beginning to specialise in a few focus areas as they progress through the manager grades. Types of projects where consultants would be the main preparer could including the following:

  • Financing: analyzing the tax treatment of investors in different types of collective investment structures and preparing template return disclosures; preparing tax calculations for fund NAV reporting; preparing partnership and company tax returns for fund structures; advising on operational tax and special status qualification obligations
  • International: assessing permanent establishment risk and potential transfer pricing issues; working with other PKF advisers to identify the best structure for new overseas activities; modelling tax costs of different profit extraction strategies; preparing treaty clearances, WHT reclaims and DTR calculations
  • Restructuring: preparing advice on common restructurings such as group reorganizations, company purchase of own shares, intra-group asset transfers and demergers; seeking HMRC clearances; working with lawyers to prepare transaction documents; advising on stamp duty issues and submitting relief claims to HMRC
  • Corporate: advising on complex corporate issues such as group relief optimization, corporate interest restriction, loan relationships and corporate membership of partnerships; providing expert support to client engagement teams on day-to-day corporate tax queries; preparing high-risk/highly complex corporation tax returns; reviewing medium-risk/complex tax returns
  • Transactions: preparing tax due diligence reports; providing tax analysis of proposed structuring alternatives; providing tax input for valuation work; reviewing transaction legal documents, tax deeds and warranties.
