Responsibilities
- Responsible for handling the general accounting function including preparing & passing journal entries and maintaining books of accounts
- Preparation of various schedules/workings/reports for month end closing of books
- Collection of cash, POS & cheques from sales team on daily basis
- Preparation of pay in slips for depositing collections in the bank accounts on daily basis and verifying their credit through online banking
- Accounting of cash, cheques & bank remittances received from customer in the ERP system on daily basis
- Performing Bank reconciliation & Cash in Hand reconciliation on daily basis
- Generating customer Statement of Account from the ERP system and following up on the same to sales team/customers
- Reconciliation of customer accounts and ensuring that balances are matching with customer books
- Following up with sales team and customers for pending payments
- Assisting in filing of VAT and Excise returns by maintaining proper records
- Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts
- Assisting with analysis and supporting the Finance Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the department.
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
- Preparation of Ad hoc reports as required by the Finance Manager
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Ability to interpret and analyze financial statements and periodicals
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of Accounting and ERP software
- Preferably 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
