Job Summary:
The Sr. Supply Chain Planning Officer shall be capable to perform all activities related to: Demand Planning and Forecasting, Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP), Supply Planning, Inventory Management and Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) and Production Planning in order to fulfill customers’ orders, optimize inventories, reduce lead time, minimize waste, improve efficiency, enhance turnover and increase revenue.
Job Responsibilities:
Demand Planning and S&OP:
- Process sales orders & own ERP planning and execution processes from receipt of Sales Orders to Shipping.
- Reduce order fulfillment lead time and increase overall customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for creating S&OP supply scenarios and ensure right customer prioritization in coordination with the Head of Supply Chain, Finance and Sales.
- Facilitates the site S&OP meetings and deputizes for the Supply Chain Head for related activities within Material planning, Detailed Scheduling and Tactical Planning.
- Support product lifecycle management (PLM) and new product launch.
- Data collection from internal and external sources on the factors known to predict or influence demand; statistical analysis of sales, inventory and other data and modeling the data to forecast & predict future demand.
- Liaise with sales and marketing for budget and forecast and to translate the budget into actual sale order on annual, quarterly and monthly basis.
Supply Planning:
- Executing and developing best practices in managing inventory.
- Run MRP, estimate the demand & the materials required to meet it and prepare a statistical forecast of how much inventory is needed.
- Optimize inventory levels and costs associated.
- Aligning inventories with customer demand, shorten cycle times and reduce inventory obsolescence.
- Manage inventory availability and inventory flow including improved in-stock, turns, and vendor operational improvements (efficiency, fill rates, lead time).
- Replenishment planning to ensure that inventory is in the right locations in quantities to meet the demand.
- Ensure right level of Inventories based on the agreed Max-Min levels and aligned with the inventory targets and aligned with Finance & aligns on planning parameters in SAP like MOQ, campaign size…
- Replenish the stock at right time with right quantity and Initiate purchase requisitions for the materials.
- Liaises with Production, Quality, Finance, Warehouse and Sales to support S&OP process and order fulfillment cycle, sets priorities and make recommendations.
- Maintains a high degree of cooperation with other departments and participates in cross-departmental activities as required.
- Analyzes, evaluates, and forecasts current status against an established baseline schedule
Production Planning:
- Check demand against inventory and allocate resources.
- Ensure that materials and components will be available when needed.
- Creates, maintains work orders in ERP system and monitor the progress of workorder execution.
- Increased manufacturing efficiency and capacity utilization.
- Establish optimal Master production schedule (MPS), while managing MPS process including major deviations from plan, impact on the production and productivity.
- Perform Rough cut capacity planning to facilitate production and planning requirements and optimize Workload
- Coordinate with the Production department to determine the status of schedules and materials to revise schedules, as necessary, to meet the deadlines.
- Resolve problems with late shipments, material shortages, schedule changes, and any cancellations of work orders.
- Coordinate with all shop departments to ensure proper inventory levels – maintain knowledge of plant operations and equipment design to plan properly.
- Conducts the coordination of supply and backorder bottlenecks within the production unit.
- Tracks, analyzes trends and reports performance of supply chain KPI’s.
- Creates and analyzes reports for planning and scheduling related activities such as inventory, backorders, supply/demand, consolidated forecasts, production capacity and procurement.
- Identifies constraints and proposes solutions to support customer requirements.
- Identifying areas of opportunity or risk, finding and utilizing synergy effects, leveraging and harnessing the company’s profile and scale, turning it into maximum benefits and added value.
- Supporting the promotion of the supply chain within the company and the acquisition of new areas of SC influence.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, SOPs and procedures, applying to pharmaceutical industry standards and market best practices.
- Follows GMP and regulatory requirements, and ensures quality standards are met.
- Demonstrates the Company Mission, Vision and Values Statements, policies, and current standard business practices.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university preferably a degree in industrial engineering, pharmacy, or any related field.
- Professional qualification in Demand/ supply planning or Supply Chain, APICS CPIM certification will be an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years Planning and Supply Chain experience from a pharmaceutical organization.
- Strong leadership capabilities.
- Communicates effectively with an excellent oral and written communication skills. Arabic speaking is plus.
- Demonstrate the capability to work independently on complex and multiple projects requiring judgment to resolve problems.
- Strong sense of business acumen and entrepreneurship mindset.
- Proactive, well organized, eye for details, with time management skills.
- Competent using MS Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly analytical, ability to define metrics, identify issues, capable of turning raw data into information and insights
- Ability to utilize Business Intelligence systems to extract data and generate reports
