The Role Of Director, Internal Audit EMEA
We currently have an opportunity for a Director of Internal Audit to join our Four Seasons Corporate Office team.
This role reports to the Senior Director, Internal Audit and will be responsible for the execution of hotel internal audits, assisting with fraud investigations, and leading or assisting with various internal control projects and fraud data analytics.
Key responsibilities within Hotel Audits will include planning hotel audits, performing detailed testing, providing written reports at the close of audit engagements, bringing exposure items or significant control weaknesses to the attention of the leadership team, leading or assisting in implementing enhancements to the internal audit programs, providing support to the field on operational and internal control issues and questions, coordinating activities with external auditors to support their audit and review procedures, and providing information on results of audits to support quarterly board reporting.
Key responsibilities within Fraud Investigations will include working with stakeholders to develop analytics, developing scripts that should be run periodically to detect fraud, conducting investigation techniques to gain evidence of fraudulent or unethical activities, recommending internal control and procedural improvements to prevent fraud, tracking and reporting on cases, and data mining activities.
Our Ideal Director, Internal Audit Candidate Will Have
Experience as a leader within finance and audit, a university degree in Business/Accounting/Finance and ideally have CPA, CIA and CFE professional qualifications. This role will be based in Dubai; however, the successful candidate should have the ability and willingness to travel and interact in different cultures/geographies.
You should have demonstrated experience and knowledge of financial reporting, the ability to assess financial and operational risks at corporate and properties, have thorough knowledge of financial matters including IFSR and GAAP, detailed knowledge of auditing practices – both internal and external, strong written skills especially in documenting controls and policies, and the ability to quickly adapt audit focus and strategies to changes in the industry, legislation or business risks.
You will have the highest level of integrity and transparency, strong interpersonal, influencing, negotiation and relationship-building skills to work with cross-functional teams, you should have a proven track record of self-initiative to work independently and with limited supervision, understand the business, drive change and improve processes, effective project management skills, and be able to demonstrate strong judgment, political astuteness and sensitivity to cultural diversity.
