Role Purpose: Fully responsible for performing/managing all Local, Import and Export Logistics, including freight procurement, vendor management and control on payment process. Manage the derived demand for logistics services in coordination with the respective Sales managers and Traders. Introduce best practice methods and or adjust existing processes accordingly in a system-driven environment.
Main Accountabilities:
- Responsible for all aspects of Logistics for export (Container, Isotanks, Flexitanks, Road), Imports by Containers / Isotanks and cross-trade in containers / Isotanks and local logistics by Road.
- Liaising with statutory bodies viz. Customs, MOH, Dubai Police, Ministry of Interior, MOFA, DP World and SIRA.
- Coordination with overseas office, JV offices on aspects related to Logistics.
- Co-ordinate with Sales managers / Traders to execute the sales and purchases as per agreed schedule and business requirements.
- Prepare regular and periodic reports/reviews.
- Maintains channels of effective communication with Sales, Purchase, Local Logistics, Terminal, Finance, etc. and branch offices.
- Propose and review guidelines, standard operations procedure (SOP) and key performance indicator (KPI) to monitor the team’s performance
- Manage the team of Logistics and Supply Chain.
- Developing and contributing to key business strategy and ongoing business plan
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Graduate in any discipline
- UG / PG / Certification in Logistics will be preferred
- Member of industry bodies (Logistics / Shipping) with active networks
- IT savvy with experience in initiating / managing digitalization
- 10 years of relevant experience in Container and Road Logistics
- Experience in a Trading / manufacturing environment will be an advantage
- Proven ability to manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional teams
