The role incumbent is responsible for providing direction and structure to the center of excellence – procurement function. Manage procurement strategy and planning, supplier market analysis, contracting, supplier management, and overall procurement activities, by establishing and institutionalizing best practices, processes and policies and overseeing day-to-day procurement activities to deliver a sustainable competitive advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the procurement budget and directly oversee accounting activities
Partner with key stakeholders and sourcing to drive increased value across all spend categories
Exercise discretion and independent judgment in developing a strategic sourcing process, vendor evaluations, commercial negotiations and cost saving
Continuously identify cost reductions opportunities for direct, indirect, and Capex transactions and assesses their effectiveness by measuring their financial contribution
Maintain standardized commercial practices within the procurement function, including best practice processes, procedures, controls, and systems
Develop and implement procurement policies, standards, and procedures that maintain the ability to deliver highest service at the optimal cost to the internal customers
Liaise with verticals procurement functions to ensure policies and procedures are followed
Maintain category / regional strategic sourcing relationships with suppliers to ensure uninterrupted supply to support plant operations and corporate objective
Monitor and evaluate contractual arrangements to make sure that the vendors comply with the agreed terms and conditions
Prepare Central Procurement Product Catalogue List which will serve as a Reference catalogue for users to refer as and when the need for procurement arises and also for ease of identification of “contracted vendors”
Identify new opportunities to utilize technology and analytics to streamline, automate
and improve processes, compliance, and cost savings
Develop new agreements for creating incremental value within the vertical
Familiarization with various E-Procurement Software
Foster knowledge sharing and effective communication between category managers
and hospitals/clinics
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration or
Engineering
8 – 10 years progressive experience in procurement in healthcare industry preferably
