The Role
The Data Operations Manager is an integral member of the database team responsible for organizing, controlling, and delivering database related projects of varying size and complexity. The Data Operations Manager will work day-to-day alongside Database Developers and Data Analysts, and in collaboration with multiple development teams. The job holder will also collaborate closely with core stakeholders across the business (primarily Data Research Team, Sales and Marketing functions).
Key Accountabilities
- Take full ownership of all data upload projects, including post show files, research uploads, opportunities, and any other ad hoc upload projects.
- Develop data quality strategies and plans that enhance business processes, working closely with functional leaders to ensure appropriate balance of quality vs change.
- Applies standards and checks to ensure data integrity at all points of capture e.g., review registration brief and ensure all online/onsite forms match with DMG Events Databases and CRM (Salesforce.com).
- Develop, maintain, and communicate data management policies and processes, including data cataloguing.
- Drive requirements for system change into relevant technology development backlogs, working with tech leads and suppliers.
- Identify opportunities to improve data processing efficiency and security through greater automation and application of data science where relevant.
- Work to define the correct taxonomy standardization including the overall approach to interests and categorizations (e.g., SIC/NAICS, Industry, persona interest) – working closely with other platform stakeholders including Salesforce and Marketing platform product owners.
- Manage data side of tech stack: Build, maintain and optimize data processes within marketing technology stack that empowers the marketing team and scales as quickly as possible. This includes Adestra, HubSpot, Google Analytics and CRM (Salesforce.com) etc.
- Managing a core team of data subject matter experts to ingest and QA large volumes of data from structured and semi-structured sources.
- Work closely with VP and Data Solutions Director and involve in other database projects as and when required.
- Create and maintain all documentation used for training and ensure any changes are available to end users as soon as possible
- Organize and deliver training courses for all data products and services as required
- Build and maintain a sustainable data management team that is motivated to drive continuous improvement in data quality where it adds value
Qualifications, Experience And Skill Required
Minimum Qualifications : Degree or equivalent
Minimum Experience: A proven data lead in a similar role (up to 6 years’ experience)
Job-Specific Skills
- Very strong data background with the ability to have technical discussions at all levels of the organization
- Wide range of analytical skills including SQL
- Analytically minded with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience in managing delivery of multiple technical data projects at once
- Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate delivery management tools e.g., JIRA
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and highly developed interpersonal skills
