To manage the regional Business Development strategy and plan in designated territories in order to optimize opportunities in pursuit of OUP’s mission and ELT Vision & Values.
The position will be based in KSA or UAE.
About the role
- In conjunction with the Head of Europe & Middle East, identify major regional business development opportunities including with key accounts and MoE and plan a strategy to approach and develop relationships in order to maximise business opportunities.
- Coordinate business development activity within the designated territories in order to ensure optimal procedures and delivering successful outcomes in pursuit of OUP’s mission.
- Develop a pipeline of new key account customers and markets in order to build an effective framework for the delivery of successful outcomes in pursuit of OUP’s mission.
- Develop and propose appropriate offers (in conjunction with the Head of Europe & Middle East and regional management team) for key accounts which align services to customer value and collaborate with local and UK teams to deliver these services.
- Support the rollout of key account management training across the region and ensure best practices are communicated and adopted by local teams.
- Work closely with the Partnerships and Innovations team to identify and recommend new business and partnership opportunities in pursuit of our mission.
- Act as a regional specialist on assessment and testing, working closely with external partners to achieve recognition and adoptions
- Support cross-divisional projects and strategic initiatives in the region as required
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all activities and act accordingly when required in order to uphold the highest standards of the OUP code of conduct.
About you
- Knowledge and experience of the educational publishing business.
- Key account management experience and understanding of best practices.
- Commercial and negotiation experience and familiarity with business development processes.
- Strong financial literacy
- Demonstrable ability to prioritise a heavy workload and recognise key opportunities.
- Ability to manage matrix style of work.
- Good project management skills
- Good understanding of the existing and emerging digital technologies that are supporting teaching and learning.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at senior level (ministries of education, senior managers).
- Excellent presentation skills.
