3C Metal is looking for a Junior Accountant
Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by compiling information, preparing profit and loss statements, and utilizing appropriate accounting control procedures.
Accounting:
Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
Charges expenses to accounts and cost centres by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.
Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying bank account numbers, scheduling and preparing checks and bank transfers, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
Reconciles bank statements with book balances
Prepares cash outflow forecast
Monitors bank issues including erroneous bank charges and debits
Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos.
Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances.
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions; adjusting entries for prepaid expenses amortization; analyzing and reconciling accounts payable ledgers; preparing fixed asset depreciation and accruals.
Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Disburses petty cash by recording entry and verifying documentation.
Corrects errors by posting adjusting journal entries.
Fills out credit applications
Reports and records input taxes by checking federal requirements on vendor invoices.
Secures financial information by completing database backups; keeping information confidential.
Assists with preparation and coordination of audit process
Assists in the payroll preparation.

Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience
Minimum of 1 -2 years of experience of general accounting.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
Proficiency in MS Office Excel
