Abu Dhabi Ports is hiring aĀ Port Operations ManagerĀ for their Fujairah Terminal. the Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth operations of the port and cargo operations in Fujairah Terminals ensuring the safety, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory requirements within Fujairah Terminal. The individual works closely with regulatory authorities, port operations and personnel of shipping lines, agencies, various stakeholders.

Responsibilities include managing resource allocation within the ports and monitoring expenditure. Duties encompass performance reporting of ports, in relation to established key performance indicators (KPIs).

The Port Operations Manager also oversees the implementation of workflow improvements that may enhance customer satisfaction and optimize resources. The individual should be organized and capable of multitasking under pressure. Port Operations Managers may be called upon to attend to emergencies at short notice from time to time.

Key responsibility includes also project management for any improvement efforts to place the port as ā€˜best in classā€™ and is responsible but not limited to driving Fujairah Terminals business comprising General Cargo/RORO/Container/Cruise, Project Cargo / CFS operations in the most efficient and safe manner.

The ideal candidate will possess the following

  • Minimum university degree in logistics, maritime and port, or process/industrial engineering or a marine qualification
  • Ā Post-graduate studies in Port and/or Terminal Management, or related business is desirable
  • Full understanding of the container / GC cargo shipping industry
  • Able to provide leadership, obtain cooperation and assistance to meet objectives within a multi-cultural environment.
  • Ā Hands-on understanding and experience of modern terminal operations including TOS.
  • Experience and understanding of vessel and yard planning
